MK ULTRA- SLEEPER DRONE RE-PROGRAMING UNIT
This was my entry into Art All Night 2013.
Artist Statement:
Between the years 1954 and 1974 the CIA ran programs under code names: MK-ULTRA, PROJECT ARTICHOKE, and PROJECT BLUEBIRD whos sole purpose was mind control. These unethical and illegal programs made use of unknowing and unwilling human experimentation on U.S. citizens, Canadian citizens, and U.S. soldiers. The Purpose of these programs were to find a way to control a person to do their bidding to the point they wouldn't even consider their own self preservation drive and to create/improve torture/interrogation techniques. In these experiments they made use of many drugs and often were unwillingly administered to unknowing citizens.
In a hospital in Canada doctors were ordered by the CIA to give patients (who were there to be treated for emotional and mental problems) LSD intravenously, introduce electro-shock therapy, and then to induce sleep for days on end with the use of barbiturates. there were over 150 known subprograms of MK-ULTRA. One of these programs known as "OPERATION MIDNIGHT CLIMAX" took placein brothels the CIA set up in San Fransico where they would give citizens LSD and film them infront of two way mirrors. Other drugs the CIA used on their human guinea pigs were: Temazpam, Heroin, Morphine, MDMA, Mescaline, Psilocybin, Scopolamine, Marijuana, Sodium Penothal, and Ergine. 44 American colleges, 15 research facilities/chemical companies/pharmaceutical companies, 12 hospitals, and 3 prisons are known to have been part of this incredibly heinous part of U.S. history.
I feel like these events are really important to take note of and educate yourself about. I did not learn about this in my public education history classes. I learned about these events from a 1979 ABC NEWS documentary and countless de-classified CIA documents that can be found through out the internet that have become disclosed through the freedom of information act. These are the documents that were not destroyed and these are the events and programs that the government and Central Intelligence Agency have come out and said....."YES THIS WAS REAL....THESE WERE REAL THINGS THAT HAPPENED." Unfortunately in our society when information like this comes out its well after the fact. 10 to 20 years later people have the attitude of ...."WELL THAT WAS THEN AND THIS IS NOW".... but too many times this has happened. If you look throughout almost every presidency, every time period, and the entire history of the CIA.....The United States has had their fingers in some evil pie trying to take whatever they want from whoever they want whatever way they want while the people of The United States are more interested in their own selfish lives rather than doing anything about it. Most of the time when I talk to people about MK-ULTRA they look at me like I'm a lunatic so I created this piece.
To Re-educated, re-program, and help people re-evaluate their entire reality in order to try to better understand the events that have happened, are happening, and will happen in the future.

WORK IN PROGRESS- PROJECT CODENAME CATBOX
No offical name for this video project or instrument yet..I've been calling it.... "PROJECT CODENAME: CATBOX." It's a prop for another video short I'm doing with Chris Ricupero and Dave Distili. The box is an instrument deigned to be smarter than the designer and is obsessed with cats. I'll be playing the Scientist who made the box that is imprisoned inside of it. More info coming soon.

This is a video I was in for my friend Dave Distilli. Directed by Chris Ricupero staring myself and my good friend Castle Spooktakular. The music was created by Tom Kostelnik and myself. Used the "Beat Miser" running into backwards delay and a phase shifter to get these sounds. I also played a cymble with cordless drill to get some of the mechanical sounds. Tom then added some weird guitar on top. I had a lot of fun with this entire project.

UPDATE! Synth Kits
I've been working on a lot lately. I still don't have a computer for regular updates but I hope to make another by the end of the week. Two of my biggest projects lately have been building prototypes for two synth kits I plan on selling. The first is called "THE BIT BLASTER." THE BIT BLASTER is a CMOS synth with 2 audible oscillators each with its own LFO that modulates pitch and each has its own "WAVE" control which controls the ramp of the LFO. This all runs into a cascaded filter for EXTRA funkiness and BLEND control that blends between the filtered and unfiltered sound. I hope to make a kick starter for this synth once the prototype is done to finance the cost of materials like components, silicone to mold the face plates, and casting resin to make the control panels. I want to make these open source...so all the information including the laser cut faceplate files and schematics will be posted here. The prototype is almost complete the last thing to design is what will hold the circuit board. THE BIT BLASTER:
CODENAME: MR KEYS
CODENAME:MR KEYS is the other CMOS synth kit I am working on. MR KEYS is a small keyboard synth that is played by you running your fingers over brass contact points letting the electricity of each note pass through your body to the output. There are 4 knobs that control the over all sound/tone/rhythm of the synthesizer. None of these knobs are labeled in order to open a person to self discovery through synthesis. Sounds ranging from Nintendo blips and bloops to heavily over driven rhythmic patterns can be achieved with CODENAME: MR KEYS. Not much left to do on this one either besides order 10mm LEDS and design what will hold the circuit board. Also all info/schematics will also be posted here.

What is circuit bending?
"Circuit bending is the creative customization of the circuits within electronic devices such as low voltage, battery-powered guitar effects, children's toys and small digital synthesizers to create new musical or visual instruments and sound generators."
Circuit bending is like flying over a city in a plane. You see roads and buildings below in organized columns and rows but inside those buildings and at a closer look you can see there is chaos within.
A project I discarded a couple years ago because I bent it to literal DEATH. Gallons of glitches:

A friend of mine asked me to make a droning noise maker to make his baby go to sleep. He and his wife had broken their vacuum cleaner using it to help the baby fall asleep so I started designing these:
